The New Balance 9060 Modern Expressionism

Sneakers

As a result of the New Balance 550’s success in propelling the Boston-based footwear giant to the forefront of the streetwear market, other models have seen a “rising tide raises all boats” kind of success. Although the New Balance 9060’s clumsy, twisted design might not seem like a hit on paper, the model has been a huge success. With hues reminiscent of “Moonrock,” “Moonbeam,” and “Vintage Rose,” their most recent version fully embraces their retro-futuristic style.

Your attention will undoubtedly be drawn to the midsole first. Wearing a loud, almost clashing arrangement of plum, aqua blue, and neon green, it has a Buzz Lightyear-esque appearance. Anyone who has seen the shoe before will recognize the upper portion of this pair because of its scattering of grey, white, and cream hues.

It gives an apparently GR pair of shoes intrigue by creating a noticeable tension between the two halves. Granularly, one area on the outskirts of these is worthy of note. The interior “N” logo branding also receives a space-age makeover, transitioning from fully drawn, reflective silver to sparse, stippled stitching. Despite being two of the more subdued colors used on this sneaker, “Moonrock” and “Moonbeam” ultimately serve as fitting names for the retro-futuristic style.
